[Xa1526] notebook will not start

Postby rudibgod » Mon Apr 21, 2008 19:05

Hi,

my PC will not start anymore.

It starts up with a black screen and the harddisk LED blinks a few times. But after this nothing happens. The screen and harddisk LED stay black. Pressing any buttom doesn't make a difference.

I hope somebody can help.

Have you tried connecting an external monitor to see if you get any display on that ?
I assume from your description of the problem that there are no beeps from the machine and no display whatsoever ?

I have started to have exactly the same problem with my Xa 1526.
Initially the PC froze completely, no response from any key.
Powered off and restarted - blank screen, initial spin up of HDD and then nothing.
Every other day it will start ok, but freeze up after a random time, 5 minutes to 3 hrs.

Doesnt work with external monitors either

I contacted tech support who confirmed there was fault - it was sent back for repair under warranty.
It came back today - 5 minutes after switching on it froze up just as before and wont restart - just as before.
There was nothing returned with the laptop so I dont see what Siemens have done if anything.

Has anyone else had this problem?

What the?

Why is this happening? And as I see now in more then one machine? A stupid coincidence? And why now?

Mine problem. I shuttdown/hibernate/sleep the PC. Come back , try to run it. And the first 3 LEDS are on , power, fan, and HDD blinks , wifi on. HDD blinks only on CD-ROM check and its not a full check , just on 1 sec . Then nothing it stays that way (3LEDs on FAN on and nothing more , no boot). First I had to run in on the battery. Then I runned it without the battery. Now I have to shuttdown and immediately run it more times over to start it once.

I'm having the same problem, its my son's laptop and it's been sent back for repair 3 times with the same fault, its had the motherboard replaced on each occassion. The problem first started 3 weeks before the warranty ran out, each time it comes back it powers on a couple of times then the same problem, power and fan LED on, disk LED blinks put no display or keyboard activity. Have connected a monitor and even tried it with a bootable recovery disc and still nothing. The last repair took 3 weeks, not quite sure whether they'll repair it a 4th time as the warranty has expired
It's very frustrating.

Help Please

Well I am not sure about the warranty in your country but here in mine all replaced parts have the warranty renewned from the day of replacement. So you should have from the last day you had replaced have again have one year (or two or whats the warranty in your country) for the motherboard atleast I think. In mine country if you have something repaired/replaced 3 times in a row you can request your money back.

Anyway I would like some fujitsu technician say here something about it .(They probably wont as its not an official forum or what they call it here)

It really cannot be any coincindence. The laptop has something wrong. Will look on the german forums . For me its frustrating cuz I write on it mine diploma work , actually I am finishing , but if the notebook doesnt wanna start I am ....... .

EDIT: So germans know about it too :) no solution though only warranty repairs.

Yeah well , I did what all of the ppl b4 me did. Took it for repair, 2 weeks , changed motheboard and it works now fine :) . Dunno if there is another solution.(Hoped that I would get a new model instead of just a new motherboard :P )

Yeey :D so after 2 weeks at home, and using it only for 4 days on the weekend (through the week I use the second notebook) it wont start again :D . LIttle different then the last time though. This time, the numlock scrollocks ... actaully blink , and the FAN goes into normal run but after that nothing. So now I really hope I can get a new piece .

Just registered for this forum hoping to get some guidance on exactly this problem. I've had my Xa1526 for just over a year - and all was fine until yesterday. This morning when I tried to turn on the laptop I also get a black screen (nothing on a second monitor either, no BIOS startup messages nothing. The battery light and fan lights come on and the hard disk light flashes briefly - it also flashes briefly if I open the DVD drive and close it.

From what others say it may be a case of a new motherboard... not good as it has just gone out of warranty. If anyone has any other ideas - perhaps reseating some components or something, I would be very interested to hear them.

Thanks, paul

Well , in my case as it started the hw reset helped if I needed to start it on the battery. And if from the powerline , then it gone like this.
Turn it on and quickly turn it off and again very quickly on (meaning turning it of and on so the fan doesnt stops turning or the leds glowing :) ). But this only when the power is connected.(Cuz it doesnt starts quickly just one battery) . But it got worse in the process. First days it booted like this on the first or second try , but by the end of the second week sometimes like the 30x try. (now its a whole new story cuz the leds are blinking now but it stops just about to show bios, and the fan goes down to to low mode.)

Anyhow , so it seems something is fishy with this notebook , cuz by me its exactly a year too. (And we are not alone, the german forum has some messages about this too)
