Problem after installing more ram

I installed 512mb ram and now my computer is acting strange.CPU is busy 60% all the time and the computer is slow.I have tried everything.System restore,taking out the CMOS battery, Safe mode without any success, What could have happened? <P>I have a Fujitsu Siemens motherboard D1627-c
