[Xi2528] heat problems.

Postby yaibal » Mon Feb 04, 2008 12:48

First of all i bought this laptop because it was advertised as a "gaming laptop", But i cant play anything. Im totally disappointed that i wasted 1200 euros for this. When im playing new games like Call of Duty 4 or Counter Strike: Source this laptop gets so hot.

CPU Core 1 and Core 2 both go up to 90 celcius
GPU goes up to 90 celcius

=

I can play like for 15-20 minutes and then i get framerate drops for like 20 seconds and the game is totally unplayable and then it goes back to normal for like 20 seconds, and it drops again for 20 seconds and it keeps going that way.

Im so disappointed, whats wrong?
Ive tried every driver possible.
Im running @ high performance mode.

CPU: Turion 64 x2 TL-60 2GHz.
GPU: GeForce 8600 GS
RAM: 2 Gigabytes.

1) Check if my Fans is working normal
2) Clean my fans and cpu cooler from dusts etc ( with air spray)

also be sure u have the lattest drivers for graphic card and cpu+ Bios

If nothing from that work you will have to change ur fans . thats my option

If you still have the same problem after cleaning out the fan and checking it is working correctly, have you thought about getting a laptop cooling pad ?
They are fairly cheap and may help

It is most likely that the CPU fan has a thermal pad rather than thermal paste. Takeing the fan off and replacing the thermal pad, with a good quality paste and refit the fan. will get you a usefull drop in temp.

BUT IF YOU ARE NOT GOOD WITH COMPUTERS THEN DON'T MESS AROUND....Also F/S might not be inpressed if you are still in warenty
I keep saying it, I'M NO EXPERT!

I sent an email to fujitsu siemens customer support about this problem. They told me to reinstall vista and if that doesnt help(it wont help) they will take my computer to repair.

What Vista have to do with all this? i'm 100% sure that the problem is not from the OS as my problem was same for 4month ( pass this time i install XP 3 times and Vista 2) nothing change. untill i open the cave and clean the fan and around from dusts etc .. and placing all again back ..now for 1st time i'm runing World of warcraft for 4 hours and Firefox + WMP and CPU temp is 55C ^^

Had a similar problem with a PA2510!

Found that everytime I used the Balanced PowerScheme the PC would heat up and eventually go down!

Also FSJ suggested to reinstall Vista from bottom (!!!! seems to be the solution to most problems)

Try High Performance Power Scheme for a while!

By the way - I returned my PC and got my money back

Do not disassemble the machine, you'll lose your warranty...why don't you try a nice software solution with direct impact at the source - I'm talking about undervolting your CPU with e.g. Rightmark CPU clock? It works great for me, the laptop is cool, quite & I don't lose any performance...even when running at the highest frequency the fan turns on only every once in a while. Kudos to the guy who wrote this great lightweight soft works like a charm, like a charm...:)

Hi, i bring you bad news.
I have the amilo xa 1526, wich is the same as yours but a little older, and i have exactly the same problem.
I have read about 1 million of forums, and i have found no solution.

i went to FSC workship in spain, technicians clean my fans ( wich never became dirty ), and put a drop of thermal paste on my cpu, then close the laptop and " perfect, your laptop like new ".
Nothing changes, tepmeratures the same as before.

I have tried underclocking, and altought not me, maybe you could reduce noise in standby mode, but never solve main problem.

I have tried all existing drivers... nothing.

Since not only cpus get hot you cant do nothing to cool down gpu, wich is for me the really problem.

Pay attention to avoiding your warranty, if you open your notebook you will lose it.

If you look a temperature/time plot ( with program you want ) you will realise there is no a 1 or 2 degrees problem, but much more.

A cooling pad dont solve the problem at all.

For breafing.

Our only chance is complain to fujitsu.

Why is the topic name Xi2528, its Xa 2528-22p.

I regret that i bought this laptop.
First time i sent it to repair they cleaned my fans and stuff = did not help at all
Second time i sent it to repair they changed the whole motherboard = Amazing but it didnt solve the problem either.

What the hell is wrong with this thing?
