[Pro V5535] Laptop doesn't wake up from Standby

Postby JustinCase » Sat Mar 01, 2008 17:19

Hi,

my Esprimo Mobile V5535 doesn't seem to wake up from Standby mode.
The hard drive and fans start working but the screen remains black.
I have to switch-off and on the device in order to "revive" it.

Hibernating however works great.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Is there a backlight present or is it completely dead?

Do you wait a few seconds before just switching it off to revive it?

Why not just use hibernation then?

most of the problems concerning suspend/resume are related to problems with graphics - is your graphic card working properly? I know this is not a solution and I'm always nervous when something's not working the way it's supposed to but using hibernation is much better anyway cause the ntb consumes no power whatsoever which is not the case when it's suspended to ram...

Thank you for your replies :-)
The riddle is solved now. A new firmware is available.
It says in the description: "- Solve the black screen after resume from standby mode on Windows XP. "

Thank you FSC

This worked for me too, using BIOS version 1.05, in Windows XP.

But I should note that my V5535 is a dual-boot (XP/Kubuntu) and on the Linux side of things, when it wakes from standby until I've typed my password (blindly, without seeing the screen) to unlock my account. Once I complete this login and Linux brings me to the Kubuntu desktop, only then does the screen come back up.

On Esprimo V5535 you need to upgrade the Bios version the latest one
Download it from the Website.
