[SCENIC T] D1188 - HDD > 137Gb

Postby c0rle0ne » Thu Jan 10, 2008 9:00

Hello,

I ve got a old computer Scenic T i815 (MB D1188) and i would like to install a HDD with a size > 137Gb. The bios seems to not recognize it with the correct size.

Is there a bios update to install? or is it definatly not possible to install such hard drive.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Albéric

No, this mainboard's BIOS doesn't support such big harddisks, and there is no update. It's simply too old :(

The missing feature is called "48bit LBA", and was invented quite a bit after this board was released...

If you would like to give it a try anyway, the newest BIOS is 1.14

I've never had this problem, so I'm just thinking out loud. Would partitioning the drive to multiple smaller sizes let you get the full capacity. Again I don't know if this would work? :?
I keep saying it, I'M NO EXPERT!
