The easiest cure to the lagging is to use an external drive - I have tried USB and it removed the lagging almost completely. The faster drive concept should help, too - originally the lagging was very dependant on which make of drive was used. The RAID driver update did remove the worst freezing for me, too.

OK so I'll guess I have to try with the Hitachi :)

Offtopic: is there any guide to opening the laptop ? Not just for the harddrive. I want to do some modding soon and I'm looking for some pictures of the inside so I can start planning without actually disassembling it first.

After about 16 hours of LAN-party usage I discovered two things: the M1439G is a good laptop for LAN-party gaming, playing most popular LAN games with ease. The second thing is that the lagbug is completely gone on my system ! It hasn't hitched since more than a week ! I didn't alter anything since my last post about it occuring. I'm pleased !

No I haven't ! I also installed Vista a few days ago. No stuttering at all with the same S-ATA RAID drivers !

I have also a problem with my M1437G.
When I use the software to build a DVD:

DVDrebuilder
http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/

The exact version I use can be found here: http://www.bespreking.nl/download/DVDrebuilder195/

When I start rebuilding, my laptop becomes to act slower and slower and then stops working.

Maybe someone can try this software and look if you have the same problem.

I also have stripes in my screen from time to time. Like a to high resolution in earlier VGA monitors.

Yesterday I finally managed to get the brrr sound on my 1437G.
This happened just after I installed the V540A raid driver. Freezing sound and video.
As soon as I used the V540C driver the problem was gone again...

I also tried 5.40A and the brr sound is solved there, but the lag is more than obvious. I can't find the 5.40C. Where did you find it? I hope that after VIA saw the significant problems with the RAID controller, we would receive a quality driver.

I use M1437, M750, Fujitsu 80GB

Hello

ive owned a M3483G since Nov 05 purchased through a company scheme

i began to notice the gaming graphocs only lag around May 06 while playing need for speed underground and also F.E.A.R.

I have never experienced any lag with video playback from Hdd or DVD or any music playback be it mp3 or WAV through Winamp, WMP or music dequencing programs such as Ableton Live ( i mainly use the amilo as a portable music studio)

system spec.

Centrino 2Ghz
1Gb Ram ( 2 x 512)
SEAGATE 80Gb 5400 ATA100 8MB HDD

not being a serious gamer this didnt bother me so much although i did wonder why it was happening.

More recently though this has been happening

http://forum.ts.fujitsu.com/forum ... hp?t=21175

which is more distressing as i have to run the cpu stepped down do 800mhz ..which renders the laptop almost useless for audio sequencing & production

Forgive me but i couldnt read all 90 pages of this thread, has anything come of the lagging issue from FSC side ?
