i know that it was discussed about this problem but since I`m not an expert (not even close) can somone tells me in simple english what do I have to do:

I have turion 1.8 MHZ but it works on 800 even if I use always on or desktop option.

do I need to send it back?

thank you for answers.

Its AMD's powernow / cool n' quiet which makes processor "idle" when max power is not needed. Download CPU-Z: (http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php),
it will real-time report core speed and voltage. If CPU-Z reports different volts and MHz depending on CPU load, everything is ok.

If not, download and install driver from AMD:
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/Tec ... 49,00.html
Choose right driver for your system....

Always on, laptop etc "power schemes" doesn't affect on AMD cpus, powernow will always take control over it. (for example my Sempron laptop is "always on" and powernow works fine between 800-1800 MHz and 0,95- 1.35 volts)

With Intel Speed Step it does matter: "always on" means always full MHz and volts (and max heat and power consumption).
"Max saving" means min volts and core speed (and min performance).
"Laptop" is best power scheme for Pentium M, it enables Speed Step.
