RAM Upgrade beyond 4GB

The Fujitsu Lifebook T4220 (configuration # A1A5J3E615B50010; Serial # R8600632) was not manufactured in contemplation of WIN 7 64-bit.

Here is my question: will the Fujitsu Lifebook T4220, under WIN7 64-bit, address 8 GB RAM?

I don't think so. Your product specifies 4GB maximum:

Additionally, a popular memory vendor specifies 2x2GB:

I thought adding more RAM was relatively easy. What you're saying is some machines just don't have this option?

Current Lifebook A Series models still have optical drives

My fault, I could have been clearer. I was refering to convertible 2-in-1 laptops such as , the HP TX2, Toshiba M700 or the models the op and I have. These types of laptop configurations have always been far and few between but now with the discontinuation of Fujitsu's T726 nobody makes a 2-in-1 with an optical drive anymore.

Additionally I don't see any A series on the Fujitsu storefront:

January 8 2019

I started this thread and now I will end it.

I installed WIN7 64-bit Professional. I just went to eBay and purchased for $64:

"Crucial 2x4GB PC2-8400 DD2-800Mhz DDR2 200pin SODIMM Nonparity Laptop Memory RAM"

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Crucial-8GB-2x ... :rk:3:pf:0

I snapped in the new memory. And Speecy reports that I am addressing:

7.99 GB Total Physical
4.36 GB Total Available Physical
Memory Usage 45%

In other words: Fujitsu, in its original 4 GB Max specification, lied. My Fujitsu T4220 is clearly able to address at least 8 GB with a 64-bit operating system. That means that I can operate Adobe Photoshop Elements et al.

Leave a message if you want to talk about this. And remember that if your car heater is broken this winter - get a 400 Watt Inverter and run the T4220 in your car and you'll be warm and toasty.
