Restoring a system image to a tX1310M1

Hope someone can help. the above server has the LSI raid enabled in the bios and I want to restore the server from an image made previously, it's running Server 2012R2 foundation.

The problems I have is that I need to install the required megaraid drivers bit when I attempt this I'm presented with a list of about 256 "lsi embedded megaraid" to choose from and only one will be accepted, I've tried modifying the inf file to only include the lines that match the IOSUBSYS ID without success, any ideas please?

how do you made the backup before? Was it mage by a special software or with Windows?

It was created using server backup, wbadmin. I selected the bare metal recovery image backup.

The problems is the megasr1.inf file, it list 100's of different hardware devices, when windows is installing and you load the drivers it takes about 3 minutes before it presents you with the correct driver, unfortunately trying to restore a system image from the repair option after booting from server 2012R2 DVD doesn't find the drivers itself, it just presents you with a list of 100's all called LSI Embedded Megaraid, only one of which (I presume) will work.

Do you try to add the driver, provided by the support page?

Yes, it was one of the first things I tried but that just repeats the listing of 256 drives all called "LSI Embedded Megaraid" with no method of determining which one is correct, when the drivers are loaded when installing server 2012R2 the system hourglasses for ages as it works it's was through the inf file to find the correct one, unfortunately when loading the drivers from the repair option it will not find the driver itself and I have to choose the correct one, not much chance when there are that many to choose from.

Finally had enough time to investigate this further, had a chat with Fujitsu Technical support who could not offer a solution but recommended that installation using the serverview manager was the only supported method of getting Server 2012R2 64 onto the machine, this is not an option in the event of having to do a bare metal restore using a system image from windows server backup program.

All attempts to use the server 2012R264 device drivers for the embedded LSI megaraid gave an error 0X800 7054F, In the end I used the Server 2008R2 64 bit drivers and they were accepted and installed, I could then run the restore using the image backup made earlier.

So if you ever have to do a bare metal restore of an existing server running server 2012 you MUST use the server 2008R2 drivers after selecting the repair option and choosing restore from an image.
