Celcius W360 power on issue

Postby Sky » Fri Feb 10, 2012 15:55

My W360 does not start when I press the power on.
I need to unplug the power cord and wait about 15mn, then replug the power cord to be able to start it.
If I try to modify anything in the BIOS then save and exit, it does not start anymore.
I need to remove the battery and unplug the power cord then wait about 30mn to be able to retart it.

Any clue about that strange behaviour ?

Thank you for your help.

Part was hard to find but it does not fix the issue.
Still same pb : I need to remove the power plug, wait and replug it before being able to start the station.
Time to time I need to remove also the Bios battery.

Another Idea ?

Thx

Graphic board Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT (ASUStek Computer Inc).
1 Eth cnx to a router.
Kbd and mouse.
That's all.
Don't you think it is a power supply or motherboard issue ?

Have you tested without the video card using just the onboard?

I will check the power requirements.
It was working perfectly in the same confuguration during 3 years.
Nothing added, nothing removed.
Going to check also without the video board.
I'll let you know the results.

Anyway thank you so far for your help.

PS: in your first message what did you mean by "Test without power switch" ?

the on off button has a lead which goes to the motherboard and covers what we call the ATX switch pins - removing the header to expose the pins you "short" the two pins with a screwdriver thus immitating what happens when you press a power button.
If the on off lead is flakey and ive seen some that are this will work fine without the on off header attached meaning that cable should be replaced.

Here are the results:
Power on with no add on video board : does not work
Power on without the power switch : does not work
Return to usual configuration.
Check power requirement : OK

As soon as I press the power switch, a red led lights on the motherboard but nothing starts.
--> removed the bios battery, wait 30 mn and replace it, then the station starts.

I've got big doubts against the motherboard...

i agree possible motherboard we take it your bios is up to date ( Flash BIOS Update - USB Stick 6.00.1.18
05.02.2009 ) http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/Download/Index.asp?LNG=COM
not that this resolves this issue you are having.
