AH530 HDMI output not working?

I received my new AH530 today but I can't get a video output from the HDMI socket. Is this possible or is the HDMI socket just for audio? I have tried plugging an HDMI lead into my TV but it just says "No Signal".The connection into the TV works perfectly using the same lead from my DVD player. I can extend my desktop to the same TV fine using the VGA output from the laptop. Any ideas?
