7 minutes??? Are you sure it's not just booting improperly and then restarting? According to this list, Phoenix uses "a series of sequences" for error beep codes - a single beep should mean "everything OK".

it hasn't done it again today, but yesterday it occurred 3 times during the day - am sure it was every 7 minutes (for about 1/1.5 hours) - normally it never beeps when i boot - i was concerned because i recently had an issue with my optical drive, which occasionally was not recognized by the bios - this also mysteriously seems to be back in order - well, i guess my machine is getting old...
i'll come back here if it does it again...
