V5535 freezes with faint yellow/white horizontal lines

My Esprimo Mobile V5535 froze last week and displayed faint white and yellow horizontal lines accross the desktop.

Now it wont boot at all. It just hangs at the splash screen ?

I can boot to safe mode but after 3-5 mins it freezes with the faint white and yellow horizontal lines ?

I have the original OS disc so no probs to do an re-install of Vista but could this be a hardware issue ?

Anyone had this or have any ideas ?

If it freezes in safe mode (A diagnostic mode of windows) its likely hardware.

Load the BIOS area - (F2 or DEL for Bios area when you switch on)
leave in there - does it freeze? if it does or same occurs then its hardware

Hi Sabrex, many thnaks for your suggestion.

It did freeze in the BIOS area so looks liek it is hardware.

Any ideas of how to pinpoint what is failing ? Is there a hardware diagnostics .iso ?

likely will freeze though part way through test but you may be able to run a quick test.

Downloaded and ran teh diagnostics. Didn't realise it was the UBCD .. lol. Already had that : )

Anyway, ran the Fujitsu Hard Drive Diagnostics on it twice and both times it said it coudln't find the Hard Drive. Prob a big clue there. Gonna try a an old sata hard drive i have from a Dell, see if i can reload the Recovery DVD.

i would take out the hard drive , load bios and see if it still freezes without hdd attached.
