Postby Avust » Tue Apr 06, 2010 19:36

Hi all,

i´ve got an Amilo Pro V3515 and when i turn the laptop on all i get is a black screen like if the laptop was turned off .

I´ve already tryed to connect an external monitor to it and the result it´s pretty much the same, black screen.

Anyone ever had the same problem before?

Thx

Hi, I assume that when you connect the external monitor you are using the Fn +F3 key to cycle through the options. LCD, LCD+Monitor, Monitor (I am not sure of the order)
I have upgraded my V3515 to Windows 7 and the Fn +F3 does not work for the monitor so am not able to comment further.
If you are using XP or Vista the did you have the keyboard Hotkey Utility installed? If not the hotkey will not work to switch between the LCD and Monitor.
The LCD screen is connected by a ribbon cable which can break over time. In the past I have found that moving the LCD slowly up and down can make contact in some positions.
There are companies who have a fixed fee +parts repairs. The F-S authorised repairers will exchange parts at great expense when the part itself is repairable.
Not sure if that adds anything to where you had got to but in the absence of any other replies....

First of all thanks for your reply bouncyt!

Well, i´m runnin on XP and have keyboard Hotkey Utility installed and still pressing the FN+F3 when connected to an external monitor all got is a black screen.

The LCD screen is connected by a ribbon cable which can break over time. In the past I have found that moving the LCD slowly up and down can make contact in some positions.

Yes i thought on that possibility but if it was it wouldn´t the external monitor work?

The problem with the display device may be because:
-the PC dont turn on
or
-the PC turn on, but culd not initzialize the BIOS because the RAM memory is wrong (frequence) or the mainboard have some internal problems.
If you can reboot with the ctrl+alt+del then may be a problem with the video display.
If the c0mputer dont reactioning of any task then is more complicated.
My pc V3515, some times is turning on the display and work corectly, but some time the display is bloked en black and I dont found any modality to change that.
I changed the memory producter but the problem is same. I pulled off on by one the two memory and I tryed with only one bank of RAM, but the problem is same.
I cleaned the contacts memory of mothrboard and of the bank - same problem.
the last ideea what I have is the flash of BIOS.
If anyoane from you found something, please post it heare.

I know what the problem is.

You can't use the drivers from http://via.com.tw/ , these aren't compatibel with Amilo Pro V3515!
You need to download the old drivers from Fujitsu Siemens or use Windows standard drivers (I have to use Win 7 standard drivers).

If you use the drivers from via.com.tw all you get is a black screen.
Startup your windows in safe mode and remove the drivers.

Well i got the drivers from Fujitsu and the black screen it happened suddenly.
Guess it may be or the graphic card or the motherboard.

If so i guess it´s not worth it to repair!

Guess that the best scenario is that ribbon cable mentioned by bouncyt.
