Hi everyone my first post here, found this site looking for hints on how to load XP onto an Amilo LI-1718. The CPU is an Intel duel core T2080@1.73GHZ
I found this thread very helpful but as my laptop is a slightly different model I’ve bodged away and got XP working but with two items still showing yellow warnings in the device manager, and a few things may not have the best drivers, like the vga which is maximum at 1024 x 768 and the audio is not as clear as I would expect, so I think I have XP default drivers working for them just now.
One device showing yellow in device manager is the “video controller (vga)”
The other device showing yellow I cant quite remember the exact name because the laptops not here just now it’s at my daughters, it was another controller, “SD” or something like that, I’ll find out later.
Anyway the thing is I would like to know exactly what is the make and model of all the devices and cards, also the motherboard chip set that’s used in this laptop.
If I know what’s in there, then I can go and get XP drivers from the various manufactures instead of auto loading and hoping for the best. Or as in the case of my wireless card trying about a dozen drivers until I got lucky.
So to get to the point how do I find out what chip set and cards are in a laptop????
Robj4y, how did you find out exactly what was in yours, I cant find a detailed specification on the Fujitsu Siemans web site, maybe it’s there somewhere and I missed it. Can anyone link up a page?
Or alternatively if anyone just happens to know the exact make and model of the graphics card, and the make and model of the audio section used in the Li-1718 ?????
Any help appreciated.
