Unknown monitor by Ubuntu 9.04

Hello.

I'm a newbie of the forum.
I have an Esprimo mobile V5535 with an intel GMA 4500 as video card.
My problem is that Ubuntu 9.04 doesn't recognize the monitor (the exact msg is "monitor :unknown") and so I can use the display only with a resolution of 800x650 and I can't change this value.
Could someone help me ?????

The V5535 didn't have GMA 4k. Did you mean V6535?
I'm not sure GMA 4000's were (properly) supported by 9.04. Do you need to use this version of ubuntu? If not, upgrade to 9.10. Otherwise, check the x-updates repository, perform update/upgrade, reboot and see if that gets it fixed.
