After 2 months of normal usage the paint where my wrist rests seems to have been heavily worn off, leaving irregular dark patches on the case. I might expect something like this after a few years but it is completely unacceptable on my relatively new laptop! Has this happened to any of you and is there anything I can do about it? Thanks.
My V5535 is black so i dont think i will ever need to worry about it wearing off.
There may be some other reason, my mother uses HP 530 and she applies Vaseline and some other cream on her hands, due to which the paint on her touch pad has completely worn off.
It's a black V5505, but it's getting blacker. I can't think of any reason other than shoddy paint, I don't sweat that much and I certainly don't use vaseline.
I have V5505 with exactly the same color and problem. It is 9 months old and surface became shuny where it is most worn, but the color remains the same and I think it will remain the same.
Chances are you can go back to the retailer you got it from or as i am having todo get an independant product inspection they could put it down to excessive use what they class as excessive use i have no idea in my eyes if it has worn away before the 12 month period then it is a manufactoring fault as they have not tested there product thoughly enough.
