Where can I buy a replacement charger?

Postby brendonwp » Tue Jul 30, 2013 20:35

Hi all

I bought an Amilo Pro V2040 years ago, and my daughter has been using it for some time. The cable going into the three-prong socket on the charger keeps kinking and the wires start breaking. I've fixed it up several times but I'm running out of wire on the side that plugs into the charger. Where can I buy a reasonably-priced replacement charger?

I'm in South Africa (where they are exorbitantly priced) but a friend is going over to the United States in a week's time. I've looked on Amazon.com and the one supplier I found there is out of stock. There are sites like http://www.laptopaccs.com and http://www.uspartsdirect.com that advertise chargers, but they don't seem to be located in the US.

A universal charger is another option, but I was hoping to get the real thing.

Thanks!

It looks like I can source a universal charger locally (Manhattan 70W) for under US $25 equivalent, so will follow this up. I tried a friend's universal charger recently and couldn't get it to fit, so will have to check this first.

Can anyone recommend a brand they have used successfully??

Thanks!
