CPU UPGRADE

Postby Naize » Sat Aug 14, 2021 20:37

Hi,
I have a life book AH531, serial no. YLDN006062. Bios ver. 1.21.
Processor Spec.
Intel i3 2310M, 2.10 Mhz, Intel Sandy bridge chipset, DDR3 1333 Mhz, Socket 988 B, PGA, Max TDP 35W
Main board spec.
FUJITSU FJNBB0F, Intel Hm65, Intel Sandy bridge chipset, Bus spec PCI Exp 2.0.

Recently I would like to upgrade the CPU with an intel i5 2430 2.40 Mhz processor and also replace the HDD with SSD.

Kindly suggest the possibility.

Thanks in advance.

Hello :)

A lot of information about your system AH531 is already archived since its first use was in 2011. Therefore, we can only provide you with general information about possible hardware upgrades.

Start with SSD, we’ve found some information that SSD Samsung EVO 850 or 860 is ok (2,5" style).

The processor i5-2430M has a similar configuration as the original i3 (HD graphics 3000, RAM max. 16GB although AH531 support up to 8GB max. the same timings).

Such an upgrade should not give you a lot of problems.
Good luck!

Avoid DDR3L, although it may work. DDR3 PC-10600 (1333MHz) is the native memory for your platform.
