Hello again chrrehse@t-online.de :)

This is the feedback we received from the support team:

If you are referring to the Lifebook A556 the End of Support (31/3/2020) for that device ended 3 years after the end of the sale (31/3/2017), hence not all information about the equipment is currently available, but:

1. Depending on your OS (32-bit or 64-bits) you may be limited to only 4GB max (4,294,967,296 bytes) if you are using a 32-bits operating system.
2. Lifebook A556/A556G was able to utilize a max of 32 GB (in two RAM modules: 2x 16 GB).
3. Available RAM modules for A556/A556 were as follow 4, 8, 16 GB DDR4 SO DIMM, 2133 MHZ Dual channel support.
4. The CPU of A556: it was equipped in Intel Core i5-6200U processor by default and they were soldered on the mainboard. CPU replacement is not possible without the replacement of the MB.

In this case, they also suggested double-checking the serial number of the device and contact with your local Service Desk (do not share it publicly). Then, we will be able to identify the exact model for you and provide you with any available information.

Once again, thank you for your contact.

Kind regards
Forum Team
