Questions about Lifebook AH532

Postby Carlitto » Mon Mar 22, 2021 19:32

I have two questions on an older Lifebook model AH532.

1.) It seems after upgrading to Windows 10, I can't burn CD-Rs anymore. I have tried different media, different speeds, and the trick with the registry. Nothing helps. The CD is SN-208AB by TSSTcorp (Toshiba?) My googling shows users of other notebooks with this CD also having some issues.

2) My machine had bios version 1.10. I see that there is a bios 2.09 however, it says bios of 1.x can not be used, and that we must upgrade our 1.x to a higher version before trying 2.09.

After version 1.09, the Fujitsu support site lists 2.08 as the next highest bios. But 2.08 also will not update a 1.10 bios machine.

So how exactly can we upgrade to version 2.09?

Thanks
Carlos

Hi Carlos

this is the feedback we got:

1.) Unfortunately, the last supported version of Windows 10 is build 1506. The newest version is not supported and can have significant functionality restrictions.

2.) Versions 2.xx of BIOS are only for systems that already had version 2.xx. Upgrade from version 1.xx to 2.xx is not possible.

I upgrade the CPU of my AH532 to an Intel® Core™ i7-3632QM processor. This CPU is listed as supported in the Fujitsu datasheet. Currently, I have the latest Windows 10 on the machine. It is a brand new install of Windows. I am finding stability issues. So I am unsure it is due to the use of the Intel® Core™ i7-3632QM processor or the fact I am running the latest version of Windows. I want to try to 'downgrade' the OS. I am not clear if my best option is:

1) Windows 8 64-bit
2) Windows 8.1 64-bit
3) Windows 10 is build 1506

For option #3, where do I download build 1506? Microsoft only seems to offer the latest version as an ISO file.

2.) Versions 2.xx of BIOS are only for systems that already had version 2.xx. Upgrade from version 1.xx to 2.xx is not possible

For version 1.xx, was Bios 1.10 the last version before the Bios was changed to 2.x? I don't see 1.10 on the Fujitsu site, but my machine has it. What was the improvements in the 2.x Bios?

Dozo yoroshiku,

Carlos
