Recovery bios Lifebook E557

Postby rniesen » Tue Feb 16, 2021 7:43

Hello,

This weekend I got a new firmware from Windows 10 updates firmware 1.16.
These bios must now executed on boot.
After rebooting the device I went into a loop.
Atention system update in progress (3 secounds) and reboot endless.

I did't soemthing (I don't yet what) and the messages stayed for a very log time, no beeps, no progress bar. Normaly (I saw this before) I see a black screen with the progress of the firmare upgrade.
After a while I cncluded that the machine was locked up.

But after rebooting, the laptop didn't boot anymore:
- led scrol and led caps lock are blinking

I lookuped on the intenet to know if there is a reovery possibility, but I didn't exactly found it for this devicec.

Questions:
1) Is there a recovery way and so what is it
=> what key combination must we do on startup
=> which usb port to use
=> which file must be on the usb stick with which names

2) Is there an isp-port on the mobo so I can readout another bios from a same laptop without open it completly?

3) can I use flashrom (linux) or the bios from the packer on support.ts.fujitsu.com to flash it into the winbond spi with an onboard chipclip?

Because this is not my notebook, I need a repair without replace the mbo.

Thanks already for some imput.

Hello :)

Unfortunately, BIOS recovery is not possible on this device. The motherboard should be replaced.

Best regards,
