Lifebook AH532 web cam not working

Postby emjayh » Mon Nov 02, 2020 12:01

I have a Fujitsu Lifebook A Series Model AH532 which had Windows 7 installed when new. The operating system has been updated to Windows 10 Home.

I had never had a use for the built in web cam until recently but now I find that it does not work. Using the Windows camera app the FJ Camera comes up with a message, "We can't find your camera". Frustratingly the camera did flash on for a split second one time I tried it but normally it just produces a black screen with the above message coming on and off.

Can someone please suggest something I can try to get the camera working.

Hello! :)

Please try to perform the below steps:

1. Please verify the following option within BIOS Setup and if necessary please adjust it accordingly:
Advanced -> Internal Camera: Enabled

2. Check if below driver and applications are up to date:
Fujitsu BIOS Driver v1.2.2
https://support.ts.fujitsu.com/IndexDow ... 354C417B32

FUJ02E3 Device Driver v1.30.3
https://support.ts.fujitsu.com/IndexDow ... BB59AE1BC6

Fujitsu System Extension Utility v3.6.3
https://support.ts.fujitsu.com/IndexDow ... 29D935974A

Function Manager v1.2.0.0
https://support.ts.fujitsu.com/IndexDow ... BFF0E66EBB

LIFEBOOK Application Panel v8.5.11
https://support.ts.fujitsu.com/IndexDow ... F00CFEA606

3. Restart the system.

4. Open "Control Panel (View by: Large/Small icons) -> Device Manager".

5. Check whether section "Imaging devices" is present and "FJ Camera" is listed there.
If this is not the case, please press key combination Fn+F12 to enable the Webcam hardware.
Now the entry should be present.

6. Perform a double-click on "FJ Camera".

7. Open tab "Driver".

8. Check the installed driver version. It should be version 6.0.1224.10 by driver provider Sonix.
If this is not the case, please click on "Update Driver" and then on "Search automatically for updated driver software".
Now Windows searches for latest Webcam drivers and will install and activate them, if there are any.
After confirming the successful update process version 6.0.1224.10 should be active.
Close the window.

9. Please download the file "Windows10-Webcam-Fix.zip" via the following link:
http://docs.ts.fujitsu.com/dl.aspx?id=b ... 5e28b24f78

10. Please extract the ZIP file into a folder on your hard disk.
Please double-click on the extracted REG file "Windows10-Webcam-Fix.reg" and allow that changes to your device are made, and then that information is added to the registry.

11. To activate the new setting please log off and on to Windows 10 again or restart the system.

12. To verify proper operation of the Webcam, please execute the Microsoft application "Camera" via the Start Menu, which is included in Windows.

Cheers,
Ask Fujitsu Team
