AH532 does not boot into any OS

Postby bignose66 » Tue Aug 04, 2020 12:21

Hi, I have a Lifebook AH532/G21 bios version is 2.14 (09/07/2018) Secure Bios
Fast Boot is enabled and CSM is enabled as is Legacy USB Support
The laptop has a SATA disk configured for windows 8.1 using GPT UEFI.
I cannot boot into any OS whether it be Windows 8.1 DVD, USB linux etc.
The laptop only boots into Grub
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks

Please disable CSM and Legacy USB support and try to boot Win 8.1 once again.

If it does not work, please try to install/boot Windows 8 x64 which has been pre-installed on this affected device according to our database.

Waiting for your feedback! :)

Hi,

I have disabled CSM and legacy boot in the BIOS.
Rebooted the laptop - nothing happens - blank screen.

If I enable CSM and legacy boot - as previously stated, I am still unable to boot from the internal CD-DVD player,USB memory stick, external USB DVD

It will not boot using the windows 8 operating system recovery DVD either.

Thanks

Please do the following:

1. Try removing all peripherals, for example, external hard drives, keyboards, and mouse. Then, try rebooting your computer to have a check.
2. Shut down the system and unplug all peripherals, all the cords and remove the battery. Then, press the power button for a minute to discharge it. Plug in the cords, install battery and reboot the notebook and check if it goes to BIOS or if it boots OS normally.

If it does not help, please go to BIOS and check boot order. Set the disk (or USB medium or DVD - you can try with all three options) as the primary boot option. Then please save this change, leave the BIOS and try to boot OS.

I´m waiting for your feedback.

1. Try removing all peripherals, for example, external hard drives, keyboards, and mouse. Then, try rebooting your computer to have a check.

- I have no peripherals attached to the laptop.

2. Shut down the system and unplug all peripherals, all the cords and remove the battery. Then, press the power button for a minute to discharge it. Plug in the cords, install battery and reboot the notebook and check if it goes to BIOS or if it boots OS normally.

- On reboot nothing happens just a blank screen. I can go into the BIOS if I press F2

If it does not help, please go to BIOS and check boot order. Set the disk (or USB medium or DVD - you can try with all three options) as the primary boot option. Then please save this change, leave the BIOS and try to boot OS.

- Hard drive set to boot first - Reboot - Again blank screen nothing happens

Thanks

In this case if all the BIOS settings are adjusted correctly, mainboard should be replaced. Lifebook AH532 has reached EOL (End of Life / End of Support). Therefore, we cannot offer customer any new spare parts from our side. :?
