AH531 Boot options not present

Postby andrew1 » Wed Apr 29, 2020 14:03

I am having some trouble with my AH531 bios: the boot options are simply not there. I did set a supervisor password and upgraded the bios to 1.30 but it didn't help. The option isn't greyed out, it's not there at all.
Am i doing something wrong?

1. check if drives are correctly detected in BIOS->System->drive configuration

2. check if BIOS->Serial ATA controller->enabled

3. load setup defaults

4. proceed with BIOS update procedure one more time

5. if above steps did not solve the issue then motherboard should be replaced, however this device has reched EOL status and spare parts are no longer available.

Thanks for the answer!
1.All drives are correctly detected in the bios.
2.SATA controller is enabled
3.loaded setup defaults
It did not change anything unfortunately.
Maybe this is relevant: the laptop is upgraded with another 4gb of ram and the hdd swaped for an ssd. However both are working fine. I tried taking the new stick of ram out, the ssd and then both but with no difference.
I don't have any reason to believe there is something wrong with the motherboard since the laptop is working fine.
The bios update was done on windows 7 with no errors, but i had the same problem on the original 1.28 bios.

Additional RAM module or replaced HDD should not affect BOOT options.

Most likely there is some issue with BIOS chip.

Please try BIOS update one more time. Re-writing BIOS may fix the issue.
