A512 - KRACK Vulnerability

Postby antikythera » Thu Oct 26, 2017 22:10

Adaptor: Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230

Anyone know if this device will be patched for the KRACK vulnerability? I think it won't seeing as Intel have assigned it legacy device status now but was wondering if anyone had come across updated information. Currently installing drivers from the Intel site anyhow (BT_Win8.1_64_17.1.1411) as they are newer than Fujitsu's offering. It's an add-in card so I don't see how there will be any stability issues by using the generic Intel driver instead.

apparently with this device just make sure wake up on wireless LAN is turned off in Device Manager as per the attached image to mitigate two of the KRACK vulnerabilities that affect it.

-CVE-2017-13080 reinstallation of the group key in the group key handshake
-CVE-2017-13081 reinstallation of the integrity group key in the group key handshake
