Lifebook E556 UEFI recover.

Postby deckedspring67 » Sat Apr 29, 2017 18:01

Hello, while doing some modifications to the UEFI, I managed to brick it.
Now the computer doesn't turn up anymore, the SCR LK led keeps blinking (From my researches it indicates DRAM failure which it's probably caused by the Vram allocation that I modified in the bios) and I can't reset it through removing the BIOS battery. What are my options?

Hi,

From past experience the only way to recover a laptop would be to remove the CMOS. There is no way to recover a damaged BIOS on Laptops, I would need to have a Mainboard exchange.

Maybe you should contact the Fujitsu Helpdesk to see if they can resolve?

Hi Diplodocus, thanks for your reply. I'm asking this because many laptops manifacturer allow to forcefully recover a BIOS from either a floppy drive or a USB stick through a combination of keys before POST, I know that for some Insydeh20 (same as the one I have in my laptop) bioses you need to hold FN+ESC without a battery and charger, then plug it in and a forced bios flashed should occour, but that was not the case for my laptop.
