SSD E-780

Postby One2 » Wed Jul 13, 2016 11:26

Hi,

#1:
Have a Lifebook E-780 from 2010 and want to replace the HDD with an SSD, but is not sure whether I need a 7 or 9 millimeter disk. Was thinking of a Samsung EVO 250GB disk.

Someone who knows about this?

#2:
If the optical drive is removed; can I put devices in there other than a battery? For instance a hard disk?

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

1)
the LIFEBOOK E780 used 9 mm HDDs. But most current SSDs are delivered with a plastisc frame which can be fixed to the SSD in order to reach 9 mm.

2)
The ODD can be removed very easy. If you remove it you have the option to replace it against a 2nd HDD bay. You can contact a service partner to order it or search in the internet for material number 34012360.

Can a SSD disk be placed there too?

It was designed for usage of HDD but SSD might also be working. But this you have to try on your own or maybe another user have already experience with it.
