Issue with Lifebook E744

Postby yukondokne » Fri Sep 12, 2014 20:08

i have purchased a Lifebook E744 for the medical staff here at my work. the laptop bluescreens randomly, and this is the 2nd one, we RMA'd the first one for the exact same issue, so i think its an OS issue, not a hardware problem. i want to put a clean load of Windows 7 Pro on the machine, but booting off any external media will not see the HDD, similar to how a server operates, needing a raid driver disk. i do not see a raid controller in the device manager, and see no drivers pertaining to this on the support page for the notebook. also its not booting in EFI so there is no protected mode that i am aware of.

can i get some insight as to how i can reload this device to further test before i have to return this one too? really want the doctors to have working laptops.

Switch the notebook on.
The following display briefly appears on the screen during start-up:
<ESC>Diagnostic screen <F12>Boot Menu <F2>BIOS Setup.
When this message appears, press the ESC key and start the test.
If OK, then reinstall OS - manual, page 74.

There is maybe on WINDOWS7 RECOVERY CD box warning "switch off secure boot if Windows8 was preinstalled previously" ???

You have to see HDD when boot menu is displayed after pressing F12.
