[V5535] New Hard Drive

Postby Tefer1982 » Mon Oct 08, 2012 17:02

Hi,

I am having problems trying to get a V5535 to accept a new Hitachi Hard Drive. Also trying to install Windows 7, as hard drive was corrupt i could not run window 7 advisor tool.

This is the drive http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hitachi-Z5K500-250GB-Travelstar-0J11282/dp/B0096Q6S7S
The drive is pretty similar to the old unit, slightly bigger and SATA-II though, it was purchased before i seen a list of compatible drives listed in the forums. Can i get this to work?

It seems to work ok in an Asus laptop ok, so its not a faulty drive.

The laptop is still running V1.01 BIOS, would the update to BIOS help? It was picked up in POST test before then seems to drop off, now not showing at all?

Is there any updates to the SATA controller available?

Thanks

Do you know if there is anyway to backup the BIOS before upgrading? I know you can still access older BIOS images as well.

Thanks

I think V1.01 is still up on the Fujitsu site if some odd reason you wanted to go back to it.

It was showing before then stopped, its not faulty though as it powers up my Asus Laptop no problem, just seems the Fujitsu does not like it?
