V5535 won’t boot with new CPU

Postby kickpush » Mon Mar 05, 2012 18:05

I decided to upgrade my Fujistu Siemens V5535 processor from Intel Celeron m 540 to Intel Core 2 Duo T7250. After checking that T7250 is compatible with my motherboard I updated my BIOS to the latest version and bought the processor.

After installing the processor the laptop wouldn’t turn on. It would spin the DVD drive and the hard drive. I have tried to clear the CMOS by removing the battery, but that didn’t help either. Then I put the old CPU back in and everything works perfectly.

Is there anything else I could try or should I assume the T7250 is faulty and request a refund form the seller?

P.S. Not sure if this makes a difference: my RAM speed is slower than the front bus speed of the T7250.

my RAM speed is slower than the front bus speed of the T7250.- This may be the reason. I would try 800Mhz RAM first.
BTW, T7250 is not the best supported processor. I saw people installing T9500/9600 (but did not ever tried myself)
