[u9200] Win7 wifi/bluetooth button

Postby majja » Mon Aug 10, 2009 14:38

Hi,
looks like new windows has problem with FS ITE wireless tool.
Application installs OK. Dialog shows when you press the button... But it's grey - means you can't do anything :(
Any ideas how to turn wireless on?

It normally does this if the WLAN is disabled in BIOS. Is the WLAN card seen in device manager?

If it is, can't help. I'm still waiting for a Windows 7 Hybrid graphics driver which works properly.

Drivers just as they are installed by the DescUpdate tool from the Drivers & Utilities DVD (as of 2009.01) which comes along with the Computer. Vista drivers as usual work fine for W7.

Beyond this nothing except for the ACPI BIOS Linkage Driver (the notorious "unknown device" left over by the standard installation routine). But IMHO this one should have no influence on whether or not the wireless tool will work.

BIOS is v 1.11 067

Any ideas how to turn wireless on?

Have you tried without the ITE-utlility?
In Vista there is a WindowsMobilityCenter where you can manage wifi, bluetoth ..
Don't know if it comes with W7, but some similar program might be there. Can't you turn it on there?

Under Win7 64bits, looks grey and you can´t use it.

Under Win7 32bits there is not problem, like you can see at McT screenshot.

If someone found a way to make it work on 64bits, please post it here.

Maybe we can try with esprimo M9400 drivers, it has Vista x64 drivers and the same "Wireless Control Utility" button, so i think it has to work.

majja if you try it, tell us if it works. If you don´t have time, i could try it tomorrow when installing x64 system again.

We can look if there is another product like M9400 with the "Wireless Control Utility" button and check if there are drivers for Win7 or Vista x64.

Sorry for my english.

The "Wireless Control Utility" from M9400 and U9200 is the same.

I tried changing folders and programs permissions from C:\Program Files\FSC\Wireless Utility, but nothing works.

I think the only way to work on Windows7 x64 is that fujitsu update de application.

Any progress on this issue? I now have Windows 7 (64 bit) on my u9200 and can not get the wireless selector to show up.
Still, the button does turn on and off all wireless systems (BT, WLAN and 3G) but I can not control them separately.

Have you tried to run the WirelessSelector.exe in "compatibilty mode" for Vista 32-bit?

I have M9400 , I installed 32bit version of Windows 7 , Before installing FS ITE when I pushed wireless connect button , windows recognized bluetooth device as new hardware , but I had problem with connecting my wireless mouse to notebook , so I installed FS ITE and turned off bluetooth and when pushed wireless connect button again my wireless connection indicator didn`t turn on ? I removed FS ITE but again bluetooth function was not enabled .
Because of using wireless mouse , bluetooth option is important for me , is there any solution ?

I think i tried all compatibilities modes and nothing works.

Now in U9200 driver section on the web, we have Windows7 section but there is not ITE utility, and this is the only thing we need to have Win7 x64 perfect.
