If you have Win xp:
Get a Windows setup disk, boot it.
When offered, choose to "repair existing sytem using the recovery console"
Choose your Windows installation - usually '1'.
type "FIXBOOT", then "EXIT" and reboot.

Vista disk should be able to detect and automatically fix this problem.

BOOT98SC seems to be a utility for making bootable floppies.. :?
Do you not have a bootable Windows xp/vista CD? (Which one do you have again?)

If FIXBOOT in the recovery console doesn't work, there's also FIXMBR.

A simple copy/paste to c:\ from the installation media should solve the problem.
Sometimes I even copy/paste the ntldr from a working OS and the problem is solved again.
