Onboard LAN and HDD boot fight on v5535

Postby vumax » Sat Apr 11, 2009 1:42

My v5535 won't recognize HDD unless Onboard LAN is disabled (blank screen with power green light on)!!!! But, if disconected from AC and started only on battery power, booting goes well with LAN enabled...

Has anybody seen this ever before???

P. S. I have tried everything to try to fix this, like flash BIOS, reset CMOS, reinsert HDD, .... etc.

Set the boot device priority from your bios.

Like I said, machine is booting and working flawlessly... But, only with Onboard LAN disabled. Moment I enable it in bios it's also working properly but only if powered on battery and then conected to AC... So, if it starts on battery power EVERYTHING IS OK. On AC "power-on" Onboard LAN must be disabled (otherwise hdd is not recognized by bios).

Excuse me @vaumax, but I dont think I can give you any more guidance unless I get my hands on a v5535.
It is posible that it is a BIOS or a hardware related problem.
Maybe someone who owns a v5535 or have access to one can make some tests and give feedback.

To @all members who own v5535... :o
Can you please test and see of you are able to boot (HDD to be recognized) your laptop with Onboard LAN enabled ?

Thanks...:)

Pecko88,

Thanks anyway for all your efforts!

Unfortunately, it does seem like some kind of bios/hardware problem... Funny thing is that by accident I have disabled Onboard LAN months ago, since this laptop uses Internet access solely by wifi or occasionally be modem and at the time I did it, it was still under warranty... Now that I am aware of the problem... it's to late... sh*t!
