[V5535] touchpad temp.

Hello all,
I purchased my laptop 3 days ago, a Pentium Dual Core 1.86, 1 Gb RAM , it had Vista Business loaded but I downgraded to Xp due to compatibility issue with my existing softwares..
Everything is running fine except the HEAT:(
Actually my main problem is the high temp of the Touchpad and the left of the laptop where ur hand rest...it is really uncomfortable to work with after about 20 mins.. main application is Office 2003, and web Browsing..
Do you think upgrading to 2 Gb Ram will help the CPU to run cooler?
Does anyone use laptop cooler for this problem?
I will try to measure the temp. and post it...
Is it normal for this model?

Hi, since you mentioned the heat at the touchpad and left handrest area, I believe it was coming from the HDD, not the processor.

Yes, I faced the same thing too, guess it's normal for our V5535. Using the Speedfan software, the HDD temp is around 38-43'c depends on the environment. I guess this is due to no ventilation hole under the HDD. Maybe taking out the HDD cover will helps? I don't know.

ive also mentioned this before, the heat is a huge issue in the v5535. sadly upgrading ur ram wont fix this. ull just have to get used to it like i have

Dunno about other models, but the area below the touchpad is quite hot after some time on my V5505 too...

The touchpad temp on v5535 is way higher than the one on v5505.

i have the same heat problems with my esprimo v6535 (Pentium T3200, 2GB RAM), especially in the left area of the touchpad/palmrest.
i thought the cpu is getting to hot, disassembled the machine to find out the exact RAM type for upgrading.
i found that under the hot area sits the wlan antenna! turning off wlan
reduced the temperature quite a bit, even on full cpu and ram load.

so guys, go back to wired lan or enjoy the esprimo only during long winters
