[V5535] 5 minutes to open the DVD drive

Postby faraz_k86 » Thu Oct 30, 2008 13:27

I dont know if this is a common problem but my optical drive takes about 5 minutes to eject. :(

its just sad.

when I press the button i have to wait for approx. 4 or 5 minutes for it to pop out. it really is annoying.

and if i press the eject button twice the "5 minute timer" gets reset and i have to start from the beginning for example if i press the key for the second time after waiting for 2 min, it will open after 7 min

make sure the DVD is not removed from the USB Safe Remove , also try to clean the lens. maybe its a bit dusty.

The dvd drive does not have the "safely remove" option in v5535. which model are you using?

Also my laptop is brand new i have been using it for a month now

usually a delay in ejecting drives is due to something accessing it.... maybe if you are trying to open it from boot or a restart.

if you turn on the system try opening the drive before windoze gets its grubby hands on it.

no these dvd drives wont show up as safe to remove like usb devices do.
