[V5535] AC power without battery

Hello
I have a notebook Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo V5535.Can anyone tell me if I can use the charger without the battery in the laptop because I want to prolong the battery's life.Isn't it affect the laptop in any way ?

yes, you can operate your notebook without the battery but i fail to understand how this will prolong your battery life.

If the battery is not in laptop then I don't use it and it will last longer.

I dont think that if you dont use your battery that it will make it last longer.
The battery needs to be descharged and recharged from time to time.

Well, if you use the AC power option every day I suggest using the battery until there is 40% power left and then store it somewhere. If you never use the battery but keep recharging it every time you turn on your laptop or attach the AC power connector, it will wear out the battery. You can recharge it to 100% and drain it to 40% every now and then so that the battery is not completely unusued. Note that your laptop may become unstable as in start wobbling due to there not being a battery for counterweighing. Additionally, some laptops have feet on their batteries.

I don't care about prolonging the live of the cheap 3 cell battery my V5535 was sold with as it only lasts for ~45 minutes anyway !

But as soon as this cheap battery has worn out, I intend to use it instead of a better battery whenever I use my notebook with the mains adapter ( unless I need to charge the better battery ) to avoid that something gets into the empty space normally occupied by the battery and may cause damage.

What!!!???? the v5535 has a 3 cell battery?? no wonder it gives such a sucky battery time.

and till now i thought it was a 4 cell battery.. :/

how did you find out about the battery? is there any software that will give you detailed info?
