You graphic card may support the 1280x800 resolution, but your monitor may not.
Check your monitor for max spported resolution.

Install this program...it is caled Everest:
http://rapidshare.com/files/115760295/Everset.rar

Open it and go to the Display section.
Click on Monitor to see what is the make and the model of your monitor.
Click on Video Modes to see what modes and resolution your monitor supports.

Question: What do you meen by this: my friend has the same laptop but with xp he has that resolution ???
What resolution are you refering to ???

Dear ,
the V5515 has 2 versions:
One of them is with vista home basic (this is mine)
the second version comes without pre installed system (my friend had and installed xp on it)
my friends has the maximum resolution 1280 * 800 on xp.
but mine with installed vista home basice has only 768* 1024 as maximum resolution although it is the same v5515 but with vista home basic,
I think the problem is in Vista or in the SIS Mirage 3 driver for vista.
what do you recommend?
thanks

Have you checked with everest to see what resolution your monitor supports ???

As I can see from the manual for your computer, your display supports:
Display
15.4-inch TFT WXGA / 1280 x 800 pixel non-glare display, (glare optional) x

Your Graphics Card should support:
Max. resolution for external displays
Up to 1920 x 1440 / true color / 60 Hz

The driver from the SiS manufacturers site supports only XP, so the only driver you can use is the one provided by FSC.
Select your model and download it from here

[V5515] and external display resolution on Vista/win7

Postby darkfroce » Thu Feb 25, 2010 23:27

hello, have the next problem: I have the V5515 Esprimo laptop with S3 Mirage video card. I've installed latest driver from SIS home page(v. 7.14.10.260) my laptop display resolution in 1280x800(ok :) ) BUT i am trying to connect to a external Toshiba LCD HDTV(max resolution 1920x1080p) thought a VGA to VGA cable and all i can get is 1024x768. HOW CAN I GET MORE RESOLUTION? I will be happy with1280×720(HD res). Its seems that can't get a driver for that Toshiba 32XV505 LCD HDTV.

Can anybody help me?
