[Esprimo v5535] how much RAM?

Looking for some info on the Esprimo Mobile 5535,can anyone tell me whats the cpu support list on this laptop using the 1.05 bios,also how much ram is supported,is it dual channel or single?

Sorry for so many questions but the manuals and pdf,s for the 5535 are unclear.

I'd also like to know how much RAM is supported in the V5535 - the datasheet on this website V5535 says 4GB - but all the machines I have spotted so far on different websites in the UK (with differing CPUs) state 2GB max.
I want a machine that supports 3GB+ of RAM so I can make the most of all the memory (2.9GB) that XP or Vista recognises.

Are there any Tech Support people reading this, or can any owners tell me if they have more than 2GB installed on their V5535 ?

Thanks for the quick response. WOuld you be able to tell me the model/CPU version and approx when you bought it. And Task Manager or System Information both see about 3GB of memory available to Windows ?

I'm interested in the Esprimo Mobile V5535 (Celeron 540 1.86GHz) because it seems a good unit for the price that it is being sold-off on UK electronics websites at the moment, but would like a machine that supports more than 2GB.
A couple of sites selling it are eBuyer and PC World and both spec it at 2GB max, with other CPU versions spec'd the same.

its a 5535, but I put in a t7700 cpu, it works in all ways, ,in Vista a XP Prof its about 3,2GB , with Linux opensuse 64bit all 4GB

@christophschaefer,thats a very expensive cpu (t7700) uk price is £199.00,thats ⅔ the price of the v5535 here in the uk!!

because Ive got a one really cheap and its like an old beegle and a porsche, but you can take each cpu of the "p socket" types

Sorry - when did you buy yours. I just trying to see if there could be a difference in production dates (different chipsets ?) which may explain this 2GB/4GB difference the UK sellers think there is.

Hi swagman - that's the sheet I posted the link to previous in the thread and where I got my 4GB max info, it's just that teh UK sellers all state 2GB max so I'm just trying to determine if there were different releases of this model, and the UK online sellers are all getting rid of earlier versions, which may explain this. So I was interested when Christoph had bought his.

thazlett,Yes I see now what your driving at,however I've flashed my own 5535 to bios 1.05 and in the decription file for that bios is the following text:-

current BIOS V. 1.05:

Solved problems:

- Fix System hang up with memories: Samsung 1GB + Samsung 512MB
- Add Hynix 512MB module support on the system.
- Support Samsung 1GB & Hynix 512MB memory module
- Fix the wrong RAM size indicated on POST screen while the system was inserted 4GB DDR
- Solve issue of system hang up on boot stage when the system was used CPUT5550.
- Solve the black screen after resume from standby mode on Windows XP.

Known errors, problems and restrictions:

- the error message might be found during the test period by toggle program on Window XP Operating system

Additional Information:

- none

So looking at the data sheet(your post) and what the text file for 1.05 bios says, I would say its good to to go for 4GB memory.

I installed an extra 2 gig of ram on top of the 1 gig supplied and it registered in dxdiag and when viewing system info
