[Esprimo Mobile] LAPTOP - CURSOR LOCKED UP!!! PLEASE HELP

Can anyone please help me with my notebook problem?. My cat jumped
up onto my lap whilst I was using the notebook, then walked across it somehow locking up the cursor.

Ive tried pressing several variations of keys but still cant solve the problem.

Ive restarted vista but after about a minute the cursor locks up. Ive contacted Fujitsu support and after checking the start up in SAFEMODE all was ok. He advised my thats its a software fault and suggested I reinstall Vista. Dont really want to if I can help it.

Any ideas anyone?

What if you try to remove the mouse (touchpad) driver in safemode? Then when Vista reboots in to normal operation it should detect a new device and it should install the driver for it and hopefully it will unlock it.. It could do the trick.

I have to point out that I'm still keeping my fingers off of Vista, so I'm not familiar with it and don't know if the above procedure can be done.
