[Esprimo Mobile] Thinking of buying an esprimo v5515

Postby CurioCt » Tue Jan 29, 2008 10:31

I am thinking of buying the Esprimo V5515 the intel duo core version with XP Pro. I have one question no one seems to be able to answer.

Does anyone know for sure if the device can be set to boot from USB flash drives?

Anyone have any experiences good or bad?

The V5545 has the options in BIOS, I never tried it though...but it should work.

Even though the BIOS might support booting from usb. It still needs work to be done to the usb before it will actually boot.
I suggest if you haven't already done so, google for some ideas.

Use anti virus, backup your data, use google.
POST BACK EVEN IF THE HELP DOESN'T HELP.

A Thank You would be nice if I have helped.

making the usb stick bootable is not my problem I merely needed to know if the laptop can support usb devices that are bootable and if you can find a specific reference on google for it then by all means show me cos I have spent ages on it. Oh and even fujitsu's own techies didnt seem to know when I called which is a little worrying and lame. but hey ho

http://www.fujitsu-siemens.co.uk/rl/ser ... /lifebook/

This shows usb as the 4th boot device. So I assume your laptop BIOS will allow booting from usb.

This http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/09/09/ ... page2.html might interest you.

ok but correct me if i am wrong but that article has nothing at all to do with the laptop in question since the BIOS in the v5515 is Pheonix FirstBios no?

I have no problem changing bios settings or setting the key to boot familiar with all that.

the question was simply whether or not the 5515 support it or not which in fairness it should but wanted to make sure if possible

CurioCt, your post at 22.56 suggested to me that the thread had reached a conclusion for you based on information provided by sstone and your response to bubblegum, if I was mistaken then I appologise.

The link I provided was for the benefit of other forum users who may have followed the thread due to an interest in booting from a usb flash drive.

Problem running game on new laptop

Postby ageliverpool » Sat Feb 02, 2008 17:41

Can anyone help me?

Im trying to play Championship Manager 2008 on my esprimo mobile V5515 but the game crashes and mouse cursor disappears once its loaded! On the games readme file it says I must have directx 9.0c compliant drivers for my video and sound cards. It says my installed audio card drivers are not compatible with directx and the solution is to get a directx 9.0c compatible driver from my audio card manufacturer.

I am a computer novice and am not sure what i need to solve this problem or to make my laptop work this game.

please help with a solution thanks. spec belowOperating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_gdr.071009-1548)
