[AMILO Pro] V8210 keyboard missing keystrokes

Postby jlrodrig » Mon Feb 04, 2008 19:05

Hi,

My old laptop (IBM ThinkPad) has recently been replaced by a brand new AMILO Pro V8210 and I am suffering a very uncomfortable problem when using the keyboard.

The keyboard misses keystrokes every few words. like this :

the cmputr keeps missng keystrks.

I am not an expert typewriter, but I am dealing with keyboards for +20 years and the errors I am getting are not usual  .

Other colleages that have received this model also complain about the same prolem.

I have seen another post in this forum reporting same problem in one amilo li1818. Although different model, keyboard may be the same?

Has anybody heard of this problem before?
Best regards,
jose luis rodriguez

Hi there,

Sorry if this doesn't help, but I assume you are running Windows Vista? If not please inform, but if you go to Start and begin to type Keyboard into the search bar, a option will appear, simply titled "Keyboard".

I would recommend clicking that and just having a general play around with some of the adjusters there, as there is repeat rate, and things like that that may help.

Please post back and let me know how you get on.

Thanks
Matt

Hi,

Yes, I forgot to mention I am using XP Prof.
I've already played with keyboard controls in XP but they didn't solve the issue.

Thanks a lot.

What happens if you boot your system with a linux live cd like knoppix

Is the keyboard working ok here? If it is then it's not a HW fault but a SW fault. A re-installation of your win XP could then solve the problem. If it's not working OK, then it's a HW problem and you should contact your local help desk to determine if it's a keyboard problem or a motherboard problem.
