Postby donmall » Thu Apr 20, 2006 10:07

I have an Amilo Pro V2020 running Windows XP Pro with a DVD burner but I am unable to burn DVD's. If I try and download drivers I get told that the drivers are up to date. Help :x :?

Re-install your Win XP, and use Nero for burn CD, DVD.

V2020 won't burn to 16x DVD's

Postby ken255 » Mon Jan 01, 2007 2:46

I have a V2020 with a NEC ND-6500A Drive, which refuses to recognise blank 16x media.

I've looked hi and lo but cannot find a firmware upgrade for this drive.

I've contacted NEC but they said that it's a problem that Fujitsu must solve since the drive's embedded and hence they have no control over what firmware FSC have installed.

On the other hand, the FSC website does not list any firmware upgrades for this drive... :(

this shucks big time since it's getting harder and harder to find 8x media...!

i seriously doubt such a procedure would actually solve anything... if the problem only manifests itself with 16x discs, or with certain brands and not with others, then it is definitely firmware related... i.e. the drive is rejecting the media because they're not listed on the firmware media table...

DVD/CD Burning is a pain on the 2055 also. It seems that the OS is confused as to whether the recording session is being mastered or not. Get the property dialogue up on your drive and see if windows has control or not. If Windows is claiming to do the recording make sure your third party burner(s) is not interfering. If you want to use mastering software, disable windows copying by removing the tick in the property dialogue for the DVD/CD Burner. Some times even this still requires a reboot (XP was supposed to end all this) to establish a clean session.
Enjoy it while you can.

16x DVD on V2020

I really wish someone from Fujitsu would reply to this topic! It is most unfortunate that we cannot find a solution, and most unfair that Fujitsu have not helped in the matter!
