Processor upgrade: ASUS P5SD2-FM/S + Pentium Dual Core

Postby ValentinPetrov » Tue Sep 15, 2009 16:03

This message is about SCALEO P - ASUS P5SD2-FM/S Processor upgrade.

I have ASUS P5SD2-FM/S Motherboard that was bought on e-bay.
I tried unsuccessfully to install Dual Core E5200 Processor - 2.50GHz, 2MB Cache, 800MHz on it. It was working with Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz with 533 DDR Ram.

Two goodhearted people from this board have send me the link for BIOS upgrade.
Now the Mobo works fine with 667 DDR memory, but is still not working with the E5200 CPU.

Do you know the what Dual Core processor that can run on this motherboard?

thanks,
Valentin Petrov, Montreal

Hello,

I have a P5SD2-FM mother board BIOS: 804, I would like to upgrade to max CPU, originally it comes with pentium D805...
I read your post:

Pentium D 920, 930 (B1 stepping)
Pentium D 920, 930, 940, 950 (C1 stepping)
Pentium D 945, 915 (C1 stepping)

820
805

All of them TDP: 95 W, I think this is the limit..
it is very nice,

but what about the D0 stepping for example Pentium D 945 D0 stepping, sSpec Number: SL9QQ
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Pentium_D_microprocessors#.22Presler.22_.2865_nm.29?
and the Pentium D 950 D0 stepping TDP :95 W sSpec Number: SL9K8
Pentium D 960 D0 stepping TDP :95 W sSpec Number: SL9K7

It is supported?, or works? or not perfectly...missing EIST or other functions??

Please help me,
I waiting for your answer, thank you very much.
