Celsius R920 BOOT Order

Postby tmakins » Mon Aug 07, 2023 13:32

I have a Celsius R920 Desktop. I need to change the BOOT order of drives in the BIOS, but there seems to be no option to do this in the BIOS menu, or perhaps it is greyed-out, so I cannot select the wanted option. Is there some means of resetting it?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us .

You should be able to change Boot order in BIOS -> Boot -> Boot option #
Could you please let us know if there the drives listed there are correct ?

Thank you.

No, I cannot change the Boot order in BIOS -> Boot -> Boot option #
The drives are listed there, and are correct, but I cannot change their positions in the order, or at least I cannot think of how to do it. The arrow keys only let me access the following entries in Boot:

Bootup NumLockState, Quiet Boot, Option ROM Messages, Remove Invalid Boot Options.

The arrow keys will not let the cursor go down to the drives that are listed.

Thank you for your help.

Hello,
Thank you for the information.

Could you please clarify the following points:
- Is the administrator and user password set in BIOS?
- Are you logging into BIOS as administrator?

Kind regards,

Thank you for your continued support.

I do not know if the administrator or the user password are set in BIOS. This is a secondhand computer. I enter BIOS by pressing 'F2' at system-start. I get a request for a password and I just press 'Enter' without entering any information. There is no mention as to which type of password is requested (user/administrator).

As this is now a private computer, used in my own home, I would ideally like to remove all requirements for BIOS passwords, as they serve no purpose.

Hello,

It looks like Administrator password is set and you have limited access to change BIOS settings.
It should be possible to reset password with jumper on motherboard. Please see manual page 62

Set jumper to "Password Skip", turn on device and enter BIOS to remove admin password. Remember to set jumper to default position afterwards.

Thank you, Sir. That solved the problem, and all is now accessible.

By the way, if anyone else is reading this, I needed to select 'Windows Boot Manager' as the boot option, rather than the actual drive with Windows on it, to get the computer to boot properly. Otherwise, I received a 'Reboot and select proper Boot device..' message.

P.S. I am so sorry to hear that Fujitsu is leaving the Desktop market in Europe. I have 3 Fujitsu Desktops, and love them very much. So well designed and built, reliable, expandable, and quiet.
