Celsius R570-2 Fans running fast after 2nd cpu

Postby Wim77 » Mon Dec 23, 2013 13:20

Hey
maybe someone knows a solution
i have a R570-2 and i wanted to add a 2nd cpu

That goes well but when i start the workstation on all the fans are running 100% (fast)
Sometimes when i do nothing they slow down a little bit but even when i open something on windows it goes 100% again

The 2nd cpu works fine so everything is visible in windows and benchmarks are also good
the 2nd cpu is not getting warmer dan 32 degrees so that cant be a problem

What i did
Bios update
update all the drivers on Windows 7 64bits
Even tried to set in bios the fans on Silence ( the fans didnt react on it)
Even reinstalled windows 7 again
Port fan4 is for the Cpu , i have add a new fan on it so that is also not a problem

i even tried it on a other r570-2 with a 2nd cpu and the same problem
I dont think that the noice is normal when you put a 2nd cpu in it because it is so loud that you cant work next to it

maybe i looked over something i dont know , does someone has a idea ?

Possibly cpu is not completely matching up to the other.
Dual Processor System:
D2628 supports dual processor configurations only in which both processors operate with the
same QPI frequency, core frequency, and have the same internal cache sizes. Mixing
processors operating at different QPI frequency, core frequency, or cache sizes may cause
system non-operation or damages on processors and/or the motherboard.

also note memory configuration
memory config.jpg
memory config.jpg (48.76 KiB) Viewed 7082 times

your cpu is Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5640 @ 2.67GHz
Frequency. 2666MHz,2666MHz,133MHz
Frequency. 2666,2666,2666,2666,
NumberOfCPUs. 1
NumberOfCores. 4
Stepping. 2,2,2,2,
make sure the 2nd cpu matches excactly.

Everything is exactly the same

processors are the same everything

The 2 processors are working fine , no problems with them on a benchmark its only the fans that are running like crazy

even tried the helpdesk of Fujitsu but they also dont know :(

reasons could be: plugged in USB hub. Monitor backdriving effect. try a different monitor. remove any usb hub if there is one.
Cant think of anything else i take it theres no log events in the bios indicating anything?

Hi
nope nothing is plugged in
we have 6 of these computers (all the same) and every computer does the same thing

nothing show up in the log :(

tried different monitors , different graphic card

The strange thing is when i changed the graphic card the fans was running lower for a while but after about 10min they went up again to 100%
even before windows starts they are already running 100%

Have no idea anymore what it can be
