AHCI and CPU support for CELSIUS V840 (not V840-2)

Postby dianast » Wed Mar 24, 2021 6:49

Dear Fujitsu Forum,

(Part of this question was accidentally posted on the German speaking forum, and now in the English one)

I understand this is an older system, I am posting just in case someone can help:

1) In my CELSIUS V840 (not V840-2), with D2533 motherboard, one CPU installed, updated with latest FSC Bios version 6.10.1.10 (24/07/2009), I see no AHCI option, but these two for SATA:

RAID
NATIVE (where it reports it is mapped to native IDE interface)

Is there an option I am missing to enable AHCI?
---
More details, if this helps:
-Operating system to be installed: Linux
-In the Fujitsu Tech Support pages for the V840, under Drivers for Windows XP or Vista, it provides a Systemboard Driver, named as "NVIDIA SATA AHCI Driver WINXP32 V10.3.0.42_MCP55", version 10.3.0.42 (18/08/2008). So, there is AHCI support...

2) Does the CELSIUS V840 (not V840-2), with D2533 motherboard and latest 2009 Bios version, supports third generation CPUs such as Opteron 2384?

Many thanks!

Hi Dianast

The information we got was that If the option is not showing, the best recommendation would be to check the BIOS FW version and update it to the latest, as there should AHCI support for this motherboard.

Unfortunately, Linux is not supported by FTS. As for the processor, even tho such CPU (Opteron 2384) it could be a valid upgrade, Fujitsu never tested that specific configuration.
