Windows Updates has it's own list of drivers which is not always 100% synchronized with the FTS support site SW pool, so if WinUpdate sees a different version of a driver, even if it is a more recent version, it might try to "update" it to match their list.
Hence if the DeskUpdate has not installed something, it might not be necessary driver, or the system already has the latest.
