Greetings,
Picked this little bugger up, used, on a whim.
Happily surprised with it… this is my kitchen table PC (Specs listed below)
Forever the tinkerer,
4 key performance upgrade questions:
1) What is the maximum CPU this PC can tolerate? Mindful of power supply capacity, as well as heat dissipation.
2) Has anyone tried to push beyond the advertised 16GB DDR4 SODIMM capacity limit?
( have my eye on Corsair Vengeance Performance SODIMM 64GB (2x32GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL22)
3) There is an M.2 NVMe slot, labeled “WLAN M.2”; could this slot also be for an M.2 to USB3.0 adapter? (..the only “drawback” of this unit is limited USB ports… would like to add either 2.0 or 3.0)
4) Likewise there is a small, white, 4-pin socket labeled “USB EXT”… I presume this was intended for use with the “SecurePalm” feature… another possibility to add USB ports??
Footnote: this is one of the few Win10Pro machines of mine that Microsoft is not threatening to render “redundant” (will never forget the XP/Vista/Win7 transition… comfortable with Win10 classic shell… still running MS Office ’03)
Thanks for any “insights” (“buy another machine” does not answer my questions… so… don’t)
