Windows Update 1709 killed DVD

Postby fujitsu_ogam » Mon Nov 06, 2017 10:17

Sup,

we got the following PCs:
- Fujitsu ESPRIMO D756 E90+
- Fujitsu ESPRIMO D556 E85+
- Fujitsu ESPRIMO E920 i5-4590

The newest Windows fall creators update 1709 makes it impossible to use the DVD player once you did reboot the computer. The device manager shows a Code 19 error. To make it disappear, you go to the device manager, delete the DVD drivers, re-install them via the plug & play search, and you are good to go. If you reboot the PC once afterwards, the Code 19 mistakes reappears, which forces you to always shut down your PC instead.

There are some registry solutions, but they didn't work at all in our case.

Another solution mentioned was to install a new hardware driver for the DVD-player, I would like to know whether it would be possible to provide one from your side via deskupdate, or if you could provide a link to a newer driver as well.

Best regards
